PGT Custom & Geometric Windows in Miami: What to Know First

Custom and geometric PGT windows in Miami are our bread and butter. We install, repair, and replace shaped PGT units – arches, circles, trapezoids, octagons, oversized picture windows with radius tops – and we give you honest pricing up front, typically starting around $85 to $210 for service work and scaling up based on glass package and size for full installations. We are an independent PGT service provider, not a factory arm, which means we make decisions based on your house, your opening, and Miami’s building code – not a corporate script.

Call (863) 862-5435

This page is for homeowners who already own PGT windows or are planning a project with them. If you’ve got a leaking arch window, a blown-out trapezoid over a front door, or a builder who told you a shape “can’t be done,” you’re in the right place. Call (863) 862-5435 and a live person answers, 24/7.

How PGT Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

PGT builds a solid window. But Miami heat, salt air, and hurricane cycles expose weak points in any window, and custom shapes have their own failure patterns. Here’s what we see most on PGT jobs in Miami:

  • Radius-top arch windows losing their seal along the curved section. The PGT WinGuard and SpectraGuard lines both use bent glass on radius tops, and the bend puts extra stress on the laminate edge. After five to eight years near the coast, we regularly see fogging or condensation starting at the exact point where the curve meets the straight frame. The fix is usually a new insulated glass unit cut to the original radius, not a whole new window – and we’ve done enough of these to match the radius within a sixteenth of an inch.
  • Geometric picture windows with failing corner seals. Trapezoids, pentagons, and octagons concentrate thermal stress at acute corners. On PGT’s custom shapes built before 2016, the corner spacer could warp slightly in Miami’s August heat, leading to a slow argon loss you’ll notice as a haze that never wipes off. We replace the IG unit and upgrade the spacer system to a warm-edge version PGT now uses on its current SpectraGuard line.
  • Sliding glass door track wear on PGT 5500 and 7700 Series doors. These doors are workhorses, but Miami’s fine sand and the salt-laden air chew up rollers and tracks faster than inland. When a 7700 door starts dragging or grinding, homeowners assume the frame is shot. Nine times out of ten, it’s a $40 set of stainless rollers and a track cleanout. We stock OEM-grade rollers for both series so we don’t have to guess on the fit.
  • Weep hole clogs on custom-shaped casement and picture windows. Any shaped PGT window with a curved bottom section traps water differently than a rectangle. Leaves, pollen, and the occasional tropical storm debris clog the weep system, and water pools inside the frame. On a trapezoid over a stairwell, that pooled water eventually finds the drywall. We clear the weep track and check the drainage slope, then re-level the sash if the opening settled.
  • Laminated glass delamination on early WinGuard units. PGT’s impact laminate is a sandwich of glass and PVB. On some early-2000s WinGuard custom shapes installed within two miles of Biscayne Bay, the constant humidity works at the laminate edge and you get a milky white border creeping inward from the frame. That’s a glass failure, not a frame failure. We replace the sash or the IG unit with current-production PGT glass, which uses a marine-grade edge seal that handles the salt air better.

Our PGT Custom & Geometric Windows Process

Here’s how a PGT custom window job goes with us, from first call to final walkthrough:

  1. 1
You call. A live person answers, day or night. We ask what shape the window is, what you’re seeing, and when it started. We also ask for photos if you have them – it saves a trip sometimes.
  2. 2
We measure and diagnose. A background-checked, uniformed Winslow tech shows up and measures every dimension on the existing opening – width, height, diagonal, and radius for curves. For a true custom PGT geometric window, we don’t trust the old frame’s numbers; we measure the rough opening from three points per side.
  3. 3
Parts decision. For a glass failure on a PGT sash or fixed unit, we call the local PGT supply chain for current production and lead time. If the model is discontinued, we match the glass spec through PGT Certified dealers or an IG fabricator that cuts true to our measured radius. If it’s hardware, we use OEM parts unless there’s a proven aftermarket upgrade, like stainless rollers on coastal doors.
  4. 4
Installation or repair. For full window replacements, we pull the old unit, flash the opening correctly for Miami’s wind-driven rain, set the new window, and level it to the opening, not the old frame. For shaped units, that leveling step matters more than anything – a half-degree off on an arch and the sash binds for the next ten years.
  5. 5
Water test and cycle test. We run water along the top of the frame, spray the corners, operate the sash, and watch for any movement or seepage before we caulk and cap. If water gets in, we fix it before we leave.
  6. 6
Cleanup and your 36500-Day Done Right Promise. We haul the old window, sweep the glass chips, and leave you a written record of what was done. If it’s not done right, we come back. That promise doesn’t expire.

What PGT Custom & Geometric Windows Costs in Miami

Honest numbers, Miami-style:

  • Service call and minor repair (roller replacement, weep clearout, hardware adjust): $85 to $210. No trip charge inside our home county.
  • Glass-only replacement on a shaped PGT unit (arched, trapezoid, or octagon IG unit): $380 to $900 depending on size and glass package. Low-E and impact lamination add cost.
  • Full custom PGT window replacement (single geometric window, standard Miami-Dade impact rating): $1,400 to $3,800 installed. Radius tops, oversized widths, and special shapes push toward the top of that range.
  • Custom PGT project with multiple shapes (an entryway package of one arch and two side trapezoids): $5,000 to $12,000. Depends on framing work, second-floor access, and whether permits trigger additional engineering.

What moves the price: the number of curves, the glass package (laminated impact glass is standard for Miami, but Low-E, tint, or noise-reduction coatings add), interior finish work, and whether the old frame is reusable. Every quote is a written line-item estimate before we start. Call (863) 862-5435 to schedule your free estimate – no surprises on the invoice, ever.

Why Miami Homeowners Call Winslow Windows & Doors for PGT Work

We’ve been doing this since 2011, locally owned and owner-operated by Ed Winslow. Ed grew up in Kendall and went through the construction technology program at Miami Dade College, then spent years working alongside installers across South Florida before putting his own name on a truck. My name is on the door – literally. That changes how we answer the phone and how we handle a warranty call. We’re also an authorized installer for CGI, CWS, ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, and other premium brands, so if a PGT repair doesn’t make financial sense, we’ll tell you straight and show you the alternatives. The 36500-Day Done Right Promise backs every job, and the standing discounts – $40 off any repair over $200, free second opinions on written estimates, no trip charge in our home county, 10% off for seniors and veterans – never expire. The one down the road.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Ed measured every opening himself and walked me through the product approval paperwork before I signed anything. When the inspector came he found the notice of acceptance taped inside a window like it should be and passed us first visit."

RRosalind Beaumont
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."
